Radiology Technician

- *Patient handling*: Receive patients, verify patient ID and doctor’s prescription, explain procedure, and ensure patient comfort and safety

- *Imaging procedures*: Operate X-ray, CT, MRI, mammography, or fluoroscopy equipment as per protocol. Position patients correctly to obtain diagnostic images

- *Radiation safety*: Follow ALARA principle, use lead shields/aprons, maintain safe distance, and ensure radiation protection for patients, staff, and self

- *Image quality*: Check images for clarity, correct labeling, and artifacts. Repeat if needed. Forward images to PACS/Radiologist for reporting

- *Equipment care*: Perform daily quality checks, calibration, and warm-up of machines. Report breakdowns to biomedical team. Maintain equipment logs

- *Documentation*: Enter patient data in RIS/HIS, maintain exposure registers, and keep records of contrast usage

- *Infection control*: Disinfect cassettes, tables, and equipment between patients. Follow BMW rules for waste disposal

- *Contrast administration*: Prepare and administer oral/IV contrast under supervision when trained. Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response

*Additional Duties:*

- Coordinate with radiologists and referring doctors for urgent/STAT cases

- Maintain stock of films, contrast media, and consumables

- Assist in interventional procedures and portable X-rays in ICU/OT/wards

- Ensure compliance with AERB guidelines and hospital SOPs

*Qualifications*: Diploma/B.Sc in Radiology & Imaging Technology or DMRT. AERB registration required in India. BLS certification preferred.
