OT Technician

Job Title: Operation Theatre (OT) Technician

Department: Operation Theatre

Location Reports To: OT In-Charge / Surgeon

Job Summary:

The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures. They ensure that the operation theatre is properly prepared, sterilized, and equipped with all necessary instruments and equipment for safe and efficient surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain the operation theatre before, during, and after surgeries

Sterilize surgical instruments and ensure aseptic conditions are maintained

Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures

Arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables as required

Check and maintain OT equipment such as monitors, ventilators, and anesthesia machines

Ensure proper positioning and shifting of patients to and from the OT

Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and report shortages

Dispose of biomedical waste as per hospital protocols

Follow infection control and safety guidelines strictly

Maintain accurate records of OT procedures and equipment usage

Required Qualifications:

Diploma / Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology or relevant field

Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital OT

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures

Understanding of sterilization and infection control techniques

Ability to work under pressure in critical situations

Good communication and teamwork skills

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Working Conditions:

Rotational shifts including night duties

Emergency duty availability required

Pay: ₹10,563.33 - ₹20,000.00 per month
